Cultivate Restaurant, an adaptive reuse project, located in the strip district of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is inspired by the farmers markets that are a vital part of the downtown area and the Grow Pittsburgh organization. The concept and design of the restaurant will focus on organic, locally grown food, sustainable materials and finishes, and themed décor to highlight fresh fruits and vegetables.  Cultivate will strive to create an atmosphere that is fresh, organic, and urban to reflect the surroundings and foster sustainable living.

       The design will feature a modern style with natural colors, straight and free form lines, and sustainable materials.  The layout of the restaurant will be based on a privacy gradient with the public area in the front, semiprivate areas in the center and private areas at the back or the top. The reception will reserve as a public area; the dining areas and lounge will be semiprivate areas; and the employee locker room, private office, kitchen, prep kitchen, restrooms, and storage/mechanical areas will be private areas.  The reception area will set the mood for the restaurant and will be carried throughout the dining rooms and lounge.
