Grasshopper Panelization
Church of the Assumption in Bechyne, Czech Republic served as the starting point for this project. In conjunction with Rodrigo Velasquez Gonzalez, the vault structure in the church was analyzed and reconstructed. The vault was then converted in to a single unit of 4 vaults connected and mirrored. In grasshopper, this unit was then mapped onto an arbitrary structure using point attractor logic. The second half of this project involved using grasshopper with lunchbox to map panels onto a field of extruded buildings. The proposed site from the Reverse Field Conditions project was used. The goals was to create a rain water catching structure on top of the buildings to control storm water coming down the hill toward the Los Angeles River.
